Earl Norem Passed Away

A short time ago, we reported that 3D Joes is working on a book of G.I. Joe artwork from 1982-1983, and one of the headlining works of art was the cover to Operation Decoy.

Sadly He-Man World reports that the artist for the Operation Decoy cover, Earl Norem passed away on Friday.  He was 91 years old.

Earl Norem (April 17, 1924–June 19, 2015) was an amazing artist and a master illustrator. His legendary artwork was featured in a variety of comics and magazines, including the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Magazine. During his time as an artist for Marvel Comics, he worked on Tales of the Zombie,The Savage Sword of Conan, Marvel Preview, Monsters Unleashed, Planet of the Apes, Rampaging Hulk, The Silver Surfer, and storybooks featuring Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, and The Transformers. He also illustrated trading cards and comic covers forMars Attacks.

For fans of He-Man and She-Ra, Earl Norem helped make childhood in the 1980s awesome. He will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace, Earl Norem.

Today at BotCon 2015, The Transformers Collectors Club (run by Fun Publications, Inc, who also run the G.I.Joe Collectors Club) announced new G.I.Joe vs Transformers figures that will be available to Club members. The new crossover figures are Rodimus and Arcee who were featured in the Transformers episode “Only Human”.

Both figures will be based off of G.I.Joe components (you can see that Arcee uses Bombstrike’s head) and will be available next year. We’ve mirrored a few images here for your review, but make sure to check out the amazing coverage of #BotCon2015 across the ‘net (places like for more images and information.

Marauder Task Force Figures Now Deploying To Mailboxes Everywhere!

Ladies and Gents, the wait is over! The Marauder Task Force gaming figures from Marauders Inc. are shipping to mailboxes across the Globe and should hit your mail box Soon!….Well, that is, if you happened to get in on the  MTF Kickstarter. The following message was sent out to supporters –

Hey Marauder Task Force Team Members!

We have begun shipping the Marauder Task Force Kickstarter reward packages! THANK YOU for your patience through this entire process and really appreciate those that stuck it out with us! It will take some time to pack & ship all the orders, but our goal is to have EVERYTHING shipped by the end of next week. Several of you will start receiving packages on Monday 6/22, with receipts continuing to arrive there after. International orders ship first, but will still take longer than domestic orders to arrive.

ALL our resources are directed towards packing & shipping, so please be so kind as to hold off asking for tracking info or checking if your package has shipped. We will be DELIGHTED to deal with specific package shipping details on a case by case basis after shipping is complete.

Also, a BIG thank you to Boss Fight Studio. We all know about their design work on the MTF project, but the delay with our MTF project resulted in a “ripple” effect delay with the release of their Vitruvian HACKS project. BFS went above & beyond helping to correct the production issues. Everything from working solutions with the engineers, reviewing materials, tooling adjustments…they even took time to check out the production during their recent Hong Kong trip. Thanks to the combined efforts of BFS & MGR, and our factory vendors, we have refined our production process, hopefully ensuring smoother rollout for all upcoming BFS & MGR projects.

Again, THANK YOU for your support and we really hope you like YOUR Marauder Task Force action figures & accessories!

MJ & the entire Marauder Team

If you didn’t get in on the Kickstarter, well no worries! Marauder John will definitely have figures available in store for those that are interested, so keep your eyes locked on the Marauder website! Join us after the jump to get in on the excitement!

Towards the end of the Rise of Cobra line, certain figures never saw the light of day, but were later re-purposed as part of the Pursuit of Cobra line. These two figures fall in to that category. Included in these actions are Jungle Duke and Jungle Cobra Commander. You might ask “What’s so special about these?”

Well, if you look closely, the Jungle Duke figure sports a Channing Tatum headsculpt, whereas the Jungle Cobra Commander includes a “Nanobot” and features a ROC Commander’s head on a body that was later used for POC Cobra Commander. You can check out both links below and even get your bid in if you’d like!
