Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game Kickstarter Campaign Update

With only 2 weeks left to go, the new Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game campaign on Kickstarter needs your help! The campaign is sitting just above 25% of it’s funding level, so if you’re planning on contributing, there’s no time like the present!

To give you a bit of background, it’s a modern tactical combat roleplaying game where you can build your own character with Marauder “Gun-Runners” extensive line of customizable action figures. As you build your own figure using Marauder “Gun-Runners” wide assortment of modular accessories, your build choices determine your character’s options for attack and defense. In between missions, you can reconfigure your character’s build based on the type of operation with many different accessory options available on the Marauder “Gun-Runners” site.

This project will produce the Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game Corebook and one set of Weapon and Armor cards, which will include all the rules you need to play both modes of the game. The Corebook and the cards will include stats for all currently released Marauder accessories. Beyond this project, Marauder “Gun-Runners” will release stats for all future Marauder “Gun-Runners” accessory releases.

The game is run using the new Tactical RPG game system that is flexible, fast, and fun to play. Pledge levels include:

  • Digital Backer – For $10 or more, you will get one PDF of the Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game Corebook. No physical item add-ons will be allowed at this level.
  • Just the Book & Cards – For $25 or more, you get one physical copy of the Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game Corebook, a set of the Weapon & Armor cards, as well as the PDF copy of both.
  • Book + Extras – $45 or more gets you all noted above; You will also get one Marauder Accessory Pack and the Game Accessories Pack.
  • Retailer Pack – $100 or more gets you x6 of the MTF RPG Corebook and x6 WEapon & Armor Card sets.

You will also get one of each figure unlocked during this campaign.
*If no new figures are unlocked during this campaign, Marauder GR will add 2 (TWO) fully geared up currently available Marauder Task Force figures to your reward package (OVER a $60 Value). NOTE: If this option is necessary, figure choice will be random and up to the discretion of Marauder GR.

Eagle Force HQ – SITREP on Eagle Force

The latest Eagle Force HQ update was shared shared today by our friends at The Drawn Word. We’ve mirrored the update for you below, so check it out then join us on the CobraIsland.com Forums for discussion already in progress!

Here’s where we go from here…

A ton has been going on with Eagle Force lately. For those of you following, Bill at Fresh Monkey Fiction made the call to retool the Eagle Force Returns figures. This will add a few more months to the final delivery while the final figures are perfected, and I’m going to use the extra time to focus on more Cat stories, and extra Eagle Force goodies:

  • Eagle Force Legends: Those of you who ordered the second pack (Redwing) back in September, I finally got those out last week. The hang-up was that my metal card vendor was delayed more than usual. I had a Legends idea that will reward you, the die-hards. Every month, I’ll do a digital pack of Legends cards, which will have about three of the classic Eagle Forcers (or R.I.O.T.ers!). With enough designed and under our belt, we can then look to printing a limited edition pack. Also, I have about half a dozen of Pack #2, which has Redwing, the Blackbird design preview, and the Tannis Rand metal card. Email me if you want dibs on one! I’m selling them for $20, which includes shipping.
  • The Cat: Seize the Castle should go out to backers by mid-December! After I get through the semester here, I plan on starting the third Cat novella, Face the Night.
  • Eagle Force MEGA is still alive and well. I still hope to get that original card set done, and am waiting to time them for sometime next summer
  • Finally, I have a trading card checklist, designed at trading card size, and good for printing!

P.S.: I also reduced some of my earlier trading card sets for quick sale over the holidays. I also have a deal to send out loose cards. Check it out!

Steel City Publishing Teases Potential 3 3/4 Inch Joe Volume 5 Breakdown

Mr. Dan Klingensmith Jr. has shared a potential breakdown of volume 5 in his series of books via the 3 3/4 Inch Joe Facebook Page and the list is quite impressive! For those unfamiliar with Dan’s books (highly unlikely, but just in case), here’s a brief synopsis:

The “3.75 Inch Joe: The Special Forces Team that forged an American Hero” series is a library of designs and stories ranging from 1982-1994, including some unproduced concepts! Volume 1 – 4 are fully colored books, printed on 100# paper in a Soft Perfect Bind format with a visible spine like a graphic novel, so there’s no reason to believe that volume 5 will be any different.

Although there have been many books written about G.I. Joe®, what makes “3.75 Inch Joe: The Special Forces Team that forged an American Hero” series unique is the fact that the information shared within the book comes from exclusive interviews with former employees who worked on the G.I. Joe® brand. Some of the things to expect include: • The inspiration and influences behind the different figures and vehicles straight from the designers’ point of view… • Alternate names for figures and vehicles pulled from Larry Hama’s dossiers or from the original concepts themselves… • Insider stories from former employees ranging from Marketing to Engineering regarding the changes that occurred during the design process… • Conceptual designs and photographs that will show the progression and different stages of creating a figure or vehicle. This includes concept pencils and inks, sculpture sheets, color studies, color presentation art, models, and much much more!

The list of characters and vehicles that we could potentially see in volume 5 is as follows:

1982 Stalker * 1982 F.L.A.K. * 1982 Stalker * 1982 F.L.A.K. * 1983 Airborne * 1983 Pac Rat Missile Launcher * 1983 Pac Rat Machine Gun
1983 Pac Rat Flamethrower * 1985 Barbecue * 1985 Quick Kick * 1986 Monkey Wrench * 1986 Low-Light * 1987 Techno-Viper * 1987 Fast Draw
1987 Persuader  * 1987 Back Stop * 1988 Toxo-Viper * 1988 Charbroil  * 1989 Scoop * 1989 H.E.A.T.-Viper * 1989 Aero Viper * 1989 Condor Z-25
1990 Laser Viper * 1990 Decimator * 1990 Hammerhead  * 1990 Ambush * 1991 Heavy-Duty * 1991 Desert Scorpion * 1992 Eel * 1992 Earthquake
 * 1992 Wetsuit * More!

Make sure to grab volume 1 – 4 at 334inchjoe.com if you haven’t already! What are your thoughts on the potential line up for 3.75 Inch Joe: The Special Forces Team that forged an American Hero volume 5? Let us know after the break on the Cobra Island Forums!
