Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game Kickstarter Campaign Cancelled

Disappointing news to share this morning – Last night, word came out thatthe new Marauder Task Force Roleplaying Game campaign on Kickstarter was cancelled. The campaign was sitting just above 25% of it’s funding level and with only 2 weeks left to go, it was apparent that ends would not meet.

We salute Marauder John and all others associated with the project. I’m sure with a few tweaks here and there, this campaign can one day rise like a Phoenix.

What are your thoughts on the cancellation? Share them with us after the break on the Cobra Island Forums.

Black Major Steel Brigade Review Gallery Roundup

Last week, we continued our coverage of the elusive Black Major and his latest release to the public. In the absence of 3 3/4 Joe product, some would even say that his line of unique custom reproduction figures are keeping excitement alive and it’s base enthused.

The Steel Brigade trooper has always been one of the most sought after figures in the classic ARAH line. While some versions of the elusive mail away figure are easier to come by than others, they are all wonderful additions to a collection for those who were lucky enough to submit the mail away in their youth, or be fortunate to have that type of change in their toy budget. For the rest of us who love the character, that want to fill that gap in their collection or who just want to army build, we can call on the Major!

Some easily noticeable changes have been made to assist collectors from telling the difference with just a little bit of research and investigation. Among those are slightly different color pallets, minor changes in paint applications on torso, waist, and head, reversed arm rivets and of course the Black Major stamp. We’ve included a gallery of over 20 images of each of the latest Steel Brigade themed offerings below, but make sure to check out our individual reviews of –

All figures showcased last week are currently available to the public via our good friend Kevin Melton, so if you’d like to add this figure to your collection, contact him on FaceBook, reach out to him on Instagram or just do some old fashioned shopping through his Ebay Store.

Thank you also to Joe Bailitz for an assist with some images of Vintage Steel Brigade for comparison! When you are done browsing the Gallery and Sending Kevin your requests hop on to the CobraIsland Forums and Sound Off! As always make sure to Follow Black Major on Instagram to keep tabs on all your Oring Troop Builder needs! Check out more Photos from this Review by reading more below and in our Google+ Gallery!

Eagle Force HQ – SITREP on Eagle Force

The latest Eagle Force HQ update was shared shared today by our friends at The Drawn Word. We’ve mirrored the update for you below, so check it out then join us on the CobraIsland.com Forums for discussion already in progress!

Here’s where we go from here…

A ton has been going on with Eagle Force lately. For those of you following, Bill at Fresh Monkey Fiction made the call to retool the Eagle Force Returns figures. This will add a few more months to the final delivery while the final figures are perfected, and I’m going to use the extra time to focus on more Cat stories, and extra Eagle Force goodies:

  • Eagle Force Legends: Those of you who ordered the second pack (Redwing) back in September, I finally got those out last week. The hang-up was that my metal card vendor was delayed more than usual. I had a Legends idea that will reward you, the die-hards. Every month, I’ll do a digital pack of Legends cards, which will have about three of the classic Eagle Forcers (or R.I.O.T.ers!). With enough designed and under our belt, we can then look to printing a limited edition pack. Also, I have about half a dozen of Pack #2, which has Redwing, the Blackbird design preview, and the Tannis Rand metal card. Email me if you want dibs on one! I’m selling them for $20, which includes shipping.
  • The Cat: Seize the Castle should go out to backers by mid-December! After I get through the semester here, I plan on starting the third Cat novella, Face the Night.
  • Eagle Force MEGA is still alive and well. I still hope to get that original card set done, and am waiting to time them for sometime next summer
  • Finally, I have a trading card checklist, designed at trading card size, and good for printing!

P.S.: I also reduced some of my earlier trading card sets for quick sale over the holidays. I also have a deal to send out loose cards. Check it out!

Eagle Force: The Cat in Seize the Castle Kickstarter Project Update

Chris Irving from The Drawn Word has shared a new update on his latest Eagle Force Novela, The Cat in Seize the Castle! The update comes to us via Kickstarter, but we’ve mirrored the details below. Check it out –

Hi, all!

The book is at the printer, after a few hiccups in the proofing stage. Among those, is that I needed to come up with a new cover image.

It has a Mr. Lucky look, which I’m digging. The entirety of the book, with the MEGA story, comes up to 80 pages. I hope to get them in the next two weeks. I’ll also be grading final papers, at the tail end of this busy, busy semester, and I hope to juggle them promptly!

Also, the metal cards for Eagle Force Legends #2 FINALLY made it in! I can’t apologize enough to those of you who ordered it: I was at the mercy of the metal card vendor’s clogged-up production queue (they’re a small shop who had a HUGE order to fill). Those go out by Monday!!!!

I’m taking the time in which Fresh Monkey will retool the action figures to think of new ways to do the Eagle Force goodies. Stay tuned for that.

That’s all!

Best, Chris

There you have it! Looks like a whole bunch of awesome will be on its way soon! Are you  excited to add Seize the Castle to your bookshelf? Join us for ongoing discussion on the Cobra Island Forums
