Zica Toys Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign Update – Dargon Card Art Revealed

Zica Toys has shared an image of the card art for Dargon, one of the initial offerings from the Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign. Here’s the scoop from Zica:

Very excited to share this, the card art reveal for Dargon! Also, just a reminder, these figures will be placed inside a blister that’s sealed to the card, which means the blister will have to be removed to get the figure out. These will not be in what’s commonly called “collector friendly packaging” where the figure can be removed without having to damage the cardback.

The campaign has just over $500 to go before reaching initial funding, so let’s get to it! What’s your take on the card art for Dargon? Share your thoughts with us after the break on the Cobra Island Forums

Marauder Task Force 118th K9 Dog, Exo Suit and Contract-Ops Kickstarter Update

Hey Taskers! An update has been received from our friends at Marauder Gun Runners. It pertains to the Marauder GR Weapon Set Series #8 1:18 Scale Gear. Here’s the scoop –

For those of you getting any of the Marauder “Gun-Runners” Series #8 weapons, the production items are finally on their way to us. We made several last minute paint deco changes and that cost us a few weeks in the production process. Once the shipment arrives, we must organize & sort all the items, pack over 700 orders and then ship out the packages. It isn’t a quick process, but we are working to have ALL the gun orders shipped by the middle to end of February.

We are happy to report the major items in the Kickstarter event are still on schedule. We will post images of samples off the production tools as soon as we receive them.

We’ll bring you more details as they’re received. We’re talking all about the latest update after the break on the Cobra Island forums!

Zica Toys Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign Update and Future Plans

Zica Toys has sent out an update regarding the future plans for their Sectaurs action figure line. The update was just sent moments ago via Kickstarter. Here’s the game plan:

Things seem to be going very well with the Kickstarter, almost 50% funded in only three days!

I also wanted to share the game plan for how things will move forward if wave 1 is funded. Wave 2 will include the four figures shown, two of which are the troop builder figures. Mantor and Zak will also include their small companion insects, Raplor and Bitaur. The reason four figures can be offered in wave 2 is because at that point it will be possible to utilize some of the existing tooling from wave 1, which helps lower the production costs considerably.

Thanks again to all of those who have helped back this project so far and please continue to spread the word!

Did you read that?! Mantor and Zak will include their companion insects! This is great news for many of us that were hopeful that these fun little critters would make a return.

If you haven’t as of yet, make sure to go get your pledge for wave 1 in here: Zica Toys Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign

Zica Toys Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign Starts Sunday, January 28, 2018

The Zica Toys Facebook Page has been updated with word on the highly anticipated Sectaurs Kickstarter Campaign. The campaign will go live on Sunday, January 28th at 12 Noon EST.

In an effort to keep things simple, Zica Toys will only offer 6 reward pledge options, all of which will be different combinations of Dargon and General Spidrax, the two initial figure offerings. The figures will come packaged on a 6″ x 9″ blister card, with the blister being sealed to the card. This means you will have to remove the blister from the card to get the figure out, these won’t be what’s commonly called “collector friendly” packaging.

Collecting the art of G.I. Joe: Volumes 5, 6 and Slipcase are a GO

It’s done! We did it! With your help 3D Joes will be able to complete the mission of documenting every piece of G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero painted art released from 1982-1994 in the United States!

So now that Volumes five, six and the slip cover have been funded, what’s next? The money raised above goal will go to two places:

  • Volume 6 (1993-1994) needs more great art, and it won’t be cheap! (more on that below)
  • Volume 3 (1986-1987) will be reprinted to fill all Kickstarter orders and keep these books in print for G.I.Joe fans both old and new

Carson shared a full breakdown that you can read after the break below. Included in the breakdown are details on what volume 6 will include and fans are gonna love it! There will be 20 pages of unreleased and international art in Volume 6. We realize this will only be a drop in the bucket relative to all of the art created around the world to support our favorite toy line, but it will be an interesting cross-sectional survey and hopefully it will inspire some of you to collect international Joes. To give you an idea of what we’ll see, check out this out –
