Rank & File – A Guide to 4 Inch G.I. Joe Action Figures Volume 2.1 Kickstarter Coming Soon

Heads Up! Now that the Kickstarter campaign for Rank & File volume 1.1 has wrapped up, Mr. James Kavanaugh Jr. has shared word via the R.A.H.C. Guide Facebook page that volume 2.1 is in the works and will happen early next year!

After a brief hiatus in 2006 that allowed the G.I. Joe brand to flourish in other areas, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero was reintroduced in a new stylistic direction that is still predominately used today! Not only did this reintroduction allow fans to revisit some of their most cherished icons within the G.I. Joe mythos, they were introduced to new characters that are now known and loved.

Rank & File Volume 2.1 is an update to the sophomore guide in a series that fully displays every G.I. Joe action figure produced, with a focus on offerings from “The Rise of Cobra” and “The Pursuit of Cobra” lines.

Don’t forget, you can pick up volume 3 and the original R.A.H.C. Guide directly from Mr. James Kavanaugh Jr. via the R.A.H.C. Guide website! We’ll bring you more details as they’re released, but until then, are you excited for the Rank & File v2.1 Kickstarter campaign? Sound off on the Cobra Island Forums!

Mark Bellomo Announces 3rd Edition Of The Ultimate Guide To G.I.Joe By Krause Publications

It’s been an exciting day for our bookshelves! Early today via Facebook, Mr. Mark Bellomo shared word that his fan favorite book, The Ultimate Guide to G.I.Joe by Krause Publications has had a 3rd edition approved!

The 3rd edition touts a 32 page count increase over the 2nd edition, now covering all the awesome items discovered since, as well as restoring the index. This guide to the guts-and-glory of G.I. Joe identifies every figure with all its weapons and gear, every vehicle with all the easy-to-lose pieces and every accessory related to Hasbro’s stellar team of soldiers. Use The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe to expand your knowledge about Joe and the team, or Cobra and his cronies, and to identify and assess the value of any of the series 350 action figures and 240 vehicles and accessories.

Best part? It’ll be printed in hardcover. I’ll let Mark’s words describe it, as I couldn’t possibly put it any better:

This one’s gonna be a THUNKER. (I like to believe that the onomatopoeic sound a heavy book makes when it’s dropped onto a coffee table = ‘thunk’).

Will you be adding the 3rd edition of Mark Bellomo’s The Ultimate Guide to G.I.Joe to your collection? Sound off after the break on the Cobra Island Forums!

Get To Know The Finest – A G.I.Joe Costume Club

Our friends from The Finest – A G.I.Joe Costume Club have kicked off a new series named “Get to know The Finest”! The goal of the series is to introduce us to those are part of this fantastic cosplay club. The series kicks off with Mr. Lenvil King Jr., the founder of The Finest! Check it out –

I️ first started costuming circa 2001 and donned my first costume – a late 15th Century Landsknecht! But I had a lifelong love of GI Joe so it was natural that those were some of my first costumes. I joined a costume group, but it wasn’t a good fit, and so decided to start doing it on our own (with close friends) and we would welcome Joe fans and costumers alike. They would always have a home with the Finest. Of course back then it was called “Cobra’s Finest”, but I guess it was natural to include the filthy Joes too!

The Finest was founded out of a desire to be able to coordinate and meet up at cons with other Joe fans in costume. There really wasn’t any serious attempt at that before. We thought it was more fun to dress up in groups. We wanted to have a place where we could build costumes together, troop, make friends, and enjoy it! We just wanted to look like the figures we grew up with as well! So the group was to be a canon club!

There wasn’t even a place you could go buy some of the ornate costumes, props, and equipment, so we started to make designs, molds, and builds for the costume community and in particular, GI Joe costumers. We formed Pit Viper Studios, where we now supply the Finest with a lot of their gear, armor, and helmets. I am proud to say we started a group [The Finest] that has grown and represents the best parts of what the GI Joe fandom is.

This is a real cool initiative on part of The Finest and we look forward to bringing you future installments as they’re made available. What are your thoughts on the first “Get to know The Finest” segment? Sound off after the break on the Cobra Island Forums

Geewunner.com Holiday Sale and Returning Enemy Favorites

The master of custom G.I.Joe themed Lego creations, Geewunner, has shared word of a holiday sale and the return of Enemy favorites! We’ve mirrored the update for you below, so make sure to join us after the break on the CobraIsland.com Forums to get in on the discussion in progress!

Catch up on some out of stock Enemy reissues, and save on some in-stock for the holidays!

As we prep Racers & Rockets for ship, and we look ahead to our first wave of new sets for 2018, we here at Geewunner still have a lot of other things going on. We’re going to reissue some favorites, drop a holiday sale, and permanently reduce prices on other sets.

First, we’ve had a lot of requests for some of our most popular Enemy sets, some of which have been out of stock for some time. We’ve decided to gather four of the biggest movers and shakers, and offer them up for preorder for the month of December, and meet some of this demand. The Four Horsemen of this reissue batch are the Enemy VTOL Attack Jet, the Enemy Attack Hydrofoil, the Enemy Teleporter, and the triumphant return of the classic black Enemy Fast Attack Tank. Get your Geewunner Customs collection that much closer to complete by nabbing one of these highly sought-after sets! Up for preorder thru December 31st, to ship by January 31st.

Secondly, while things were a bit busy around these parts for us to have engaged in any sort of Black Friday / Cyber Monday action, don’t think we’re immune to holiday sale madness! Save on many of our more popular (and currently in stock!) sets. Head over to the store to see exactly what all is included in this sale, but for now, here’s an incomplete list:

Also of note: we’ve permanently reduced the prices of most of our Minifig Accessory Sets, with an average reduction of a dollar for each one.

The sale runs for the first half of December, from today thru the 15th.  Any and all orders placed during the sale will ship by the 16th at the latest, which should get you your loot before the big holiday, but we can’t guarantee any orders placed after the 10th will get to you on time.  Free sets work as usual; Hit those milestones with these sale prices, and take your free sets, as always! Head over to the store NOW to take advantage of all of these offers!
