Eagle Force Pulp: The Cat in Face the Night Kickstarter Campaign Update

There’s a couple of fantastic new goals that have been added to the latest Eagle Force Pulp Novella Kickstarter campaign from The Drawn Word. Lee Fine, aka The Cat, must deal with both the R.I.O.T. Direktor and Baron Von Chill, in Lee Fine’s latest adventure, Face the Night!

If you weren’t aware, the campaign has not only hit its funding goal, but has surpassed its first stretch goal, giving us an additional Eagle Force: MEGA story! So, with all of that said, let’s get in to the REALLY good stuff!

For you card collectors, a Sketch Card level was added that features both the Cat and Face cards! Go at it! Or, maybe you’d rather be immortalized in print? Well in that case, you can be at the mercy of Baron Von Chill II! Anyone who wants to pledge an additional $25/$50 gets to be a lab rat for Baron Von Chill in the MEGA short story. Here’s how to get in:

  • Increase your pledge by $25 to not make it through alive!
  • Increase your pledge by $50 to get mutated!
  • Be sure to email Chris (TheDrawnWord) and let him know that’s what your pledge is for.

So what are you waiting for? Go get your pledge in, or for many of us, increase your pledge and be a part of Eagle Force history! We’re talking all about it on the Cobra Island Forums , so join us after the break to get in on the fun!

Eagle Force Pulp: The Cat in Face the Night Now Live on Kickstarter

The latest Eagle Force Pulp Novella from The Drawn Word is now live on Kickstarter! Lee Fine, aka The Cat, must deal with both the R.I.O.T. Direktor and Baron Von Chill, as the world grows more dire…

In Lee Fine’s latest adventure, Face the Night, he comes face to face with a monstrous legend–

Then, the figure fully emerges from the shadows, and the assassin screams in terror.

All Vito can make out is orange hair as the hitman’s scream of shock turns into several ones of pain, punctuated by the sound of breaking bones.

Triumphant, the orange-haired figure stands over what’s left of the assassin, gloved fists clenched by its side. Suddenly, it has turned to face Vito. Green skin, white eyes encircled with dark circles, and a rictus-like grin with dripping fangs coming out from under the top lip. “Be cool, Vito,” this…face says. “And get out of town.”

It’s 1980 and Lee Fine has finally become comfortable with the life of a secret operator. Fine’s world does, however, continue to change, as Baron Von Chill rises to prominence in diplomatic circles and the mysterious Direktor continues his nefarious plans.

Amidst all of it, The Cat encounters a crimefighter from the past, who has a link to a covert military group in World War II. Face the Night brings the world closer to where it needs an Eagle Force. Read it here first.

Eagle Force HQ – SITREP on Eagle Force

The latest Eagle Force HQ update was shared shared today by our friends at The Drawn Word. We’ve mirrored the update for you below, so check it out then join us on the CobraIsland.com Forums for discussion already in progress!

Here’s where we go from here…

A ton has been going on with Eagle Force lately. For those of you following, Bill at Fresh Monkey Fiction made the call to retool the Eagle Force Returns figures. This will add a few more months to the final delivery while the final figures are perfected, and I’m going to use the extra time to focus on more Cat stories, and extra Eagle Force goodies:

  • Eagle Force Legends: Those of you who ordered the second pack (Redwing) back in September, I finally got those out last week. The hang-up was that my metal card vendor was delayed more than usual. I had a Legends idea that will reward you, the die-hards. Every month, I’ll do a digital pack of Legends cards, which will have about three of the classic Eagle Forcers (or R.I.O.T.ers!). With enough designed and under our belt, we can then look to printing a limited edition pack. Also, I have about half a dozen of Pack #2, which has Redwing, the Blackbird design preview, and the Tannis Rand metal card. Email me if you want dibs on one! I’m selling them for $20, which includes shipping.
  • The Cat: Seize the Castle should go out to backers by mid-December! After I get through the semester here, I plan on starting the third Cat novella, Face the Night.
  • Eagle Force MEGA is still alive and well. I still hope to get that original card set done, and am waiting to time them for sometime next summer
  • Finally, I have a trading card checklist, designed at trading card size, and good for printing!

P.S.: I also reduced some of my earlier trading card sets for quick sale over the holidays. I also have a deal to send out loose cards. Check it out!

Eagle Force: The Cat in Seize the Castle Kickstarter Project Update

Chris Irving from The Drawn Word has shared a new update on his latest Eagle Force Novela, The Cat in Seize the Castle! The update comes to us via Kickstarter, but we’ve mirrored the details below. Check it out –

Hi, all!

The book is at the printer, after a few hiccups in the proofing stage. Among those, is that I needed to come up with a new cover image.

It has a Mr. Lucky look, which I’m digging. The entirety of the book, with the MEGA story, comes up to 80 pages. I hope to get them in the next two weeks. I’ll also be grading final papers, at the tail end of this busy, busy semester, and I hope to juggle them promptly!

Also, the metal cards for Eagle Force Legends #2 FINALLY made it in! I can’t apologize enough to those of you who ordered it: I was at the mercy of the metal card vendor’s clogged-up production queue (they’re a small shop who had a HUGE order to fill). Those go out by Monday!!!!

I’m taking the time in which Fresh Monkey will retool the action figures to think of new ways to do the Eagle Force goodies. Stay tuned for that.

That’s all!

Best, Chris

There you have it! Looks like a whole bunch of awesome will be on its way soon! Are you  excited to add Seize the Castle to your bookshelf? Join us for ongoing discussion on the Cobra Island Forums

Fresh Monkey Fiction Larry Hama Kickstarter Campaign Update – Scale Adjustment

Our friend Bill from Fresh Monkey Fiction sent out word via Kickstarter that the Larry Hama action figure will be delayed, as it will receive the same treatment as the upcoming Eagle Force Returns action figures and get a scale adjustment. I know I speak for many when I say that although delays are never fun, quality product is the goal; So in that respect, a delay is no worries at all. Here’s the scoop from the update:

Hey everyone

Designer Con was last weekend and we got to show the tooling for the Larry Hama figure as well as the proposed card art. We got some great feedback on the Larry figure and the Eagle Force Returns line. We have made the conclusion that the Larry figure is smaller than most fans would like, as you can see from this image. FYI Larry will not come with a holster.

So we have decided to redo the tooling in order to increase the size. The downside of this is that we will have to delay the shipping of the figure until the summer. We did not come to this decision lightly but feel this will make the figure better in the long run. We hope everyone understands and is willing to wait in order to make the figure better.

Thanks again for the support everyone.

Bill

Sounds like this Summer is going to be chock full of awesome figures coming our way, so keep it locked on the Cobra Island Forums for more details as they’re released!

Eagle Force Returns Kickstarter Campaign Update – Retooling is a GO!

Our friends from Fresh Monkey Fiction shared word via Kickstarter that retooling of the Eagle Force Returns Action Figure line will begin. With that said, that will cause a bit of a delay in receiving our new toys, but hey, you can’t rush perfection! Here’s the scoop from the Campaign, where Bill provided a Q&A to questions received. The list is long, so make sure to read more below to check it out.

I for one am thankful that Bill is going this route, as a delay is a small price to pay to ensure that we enjoy quality figures when the time comes. What are your thoughts on the subject? Share them with us on the Cobra Island Forums
