Hasbro and Paramount announce G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. and ROM Interconnected Movie Universe

You may remember that last month we brought word that Akiva Goldsman Is To Lead A Writers Team For Upcoming G. I. Joe Movies. Thanks to The Hollywould Reporter, we now have word on the other brands that will apparently reside alongside G.I.Joe in this new movie universe. Those brands include Microauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. and ROM, Space Knight (?). From THR:

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are embarking on a new universe of interrelated characters and stories. The studio — which is already in the process of expanding its Transformers universe after four movies based on that popular Hasbro toy line — is announcing a new deal with Hasbro on Tuesday that will see Paramount and Allspark Pictures, Hasbro’s film label, build an interconnected, cross-property onscreen universe, featuring characters from five of Hasbro’s other brands: G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM.

This scenario points to Hasbro’s Unit-E initiative, which was initially reported on 4 years ago at NYCC . To refresh your memory, we’ve mirrored some of the scans we shared back then with this story. So, what are your thoughts? Do you think the likes of Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K, ROM and G.I.Joe all fit within the same universe, or do you think individual attention should be paid to our beloved Modern Army Action Figure? Read on for the full press release then join us here for discussion already in progress! – What’s the plan for the next G.I.Joe Movie?
