John Royle Shares Cover for IDW Publishing’s G.I.Joe 249

This past Thursday, John Royle shared the Retailer Incentive cover for IDW Publishing‘s G.I.Joe #249. Needless to say, it’s beautiful! This issue will lead us in to the oversized issue #250 and the conclusion of the Dawn of the Arashikage story arc! Here’s what John shared on the cover:

My upcoming G.I.Joe Rah issue 249 cover with logo, one of my personal favourites so far, really had a ball drawing this one with a bit of a homage to Drew Struzan’s beautiful montage style movie posters. She Took on Cobra!

My birthday was last month, and our very own C.I.A.D. surprized me with this beautiful poster, illustrated by Brian Miller, also known as Oktopolis!

Today I finally got a frame for the poster, and I hung it on my wall.  I thought you all might enjoy having a look at it!

TookonCobra01

As you can see, it’s a beautiful work of art that evokes the old school style of movie posters, rendered in four colors with Lady Jaye in the foreground, and Scarlett and Cover Girl in the background!

There’s a strong girl power element to this poster, which celebrates the involvement of women, in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero television and comics, as strong leaders and tough soldiers!

Once again, I’d like to thank C.I.A.D. for sending this poster to me, and to Oktopolis for the beautiful job that he did.

And if you’d like to purchase a copy of She Took on Cobra, check out Brian Miller’s website, Oktopolis!  You can also check out other posters there, as well as on the Oktopolis Facebook page, Twitter, and Instagram!
